The late show? I think some of its pretty funny, some not so much. Conan was better tho for sure.

Jimmy Kimmel can joke about how his late-night job might be affected when Jay Leno becomes a free agent – at least when his ABC boss and hundreds of reporters are around.

A comedy bit involving Kimmel and ABC Entertainment President Stephen McPherson drew laughs Wednesday from the Television Critics Association, but McPherson acknowledged ABC’s possible interest in Leno after he turns NBC’s “Tonight” over to Conan O’Brien in 2009.

“I can’t believe they’re (NBC) going to let this guy go at the top of his game,” McPherson said. “If that happens, we’ll look at it at the time and Jimmy will be involved in those discussions.”

NBC, hoping for a smooth transition at “Tonight,” put plans for Leno’s departure from “Tonight” in place in 2004 and have talked of finding another role for him at the network.

But with Leno still riding high in the ratings, networks and syndicators are poised to court him when he’s free to open contract talks.

Jimmy Fallon is set to fill O’Brien’s chair at NBC’s “Late Night.”
BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. – Conan O’Brien will take over the “Tonight” show next June – and what happens to deposed host Jay Leno after that is anybody’s guess.

Leno’s last show will be Friday, May 29, and O’Brien will start the following Monday, June 1, NBC executives told a Television Critics Association meeting Monday.
Jimmy Fallon is poised to take over O’Brien’s “Late Night” in March or April of 2009, after honing his approach in brief Internet shows, Silverman and Graboff said.

i think Jimmy Fallon is a good guy and can do a good job with Late Night but I’m SUPER excited for Conan to take over the Tonight show. I love Conan, hes hilarious. I’m gonna miss Jay though.

I have watched Conan O’Brien for as long as I can remember, he ALWAYS makes me laugh! you know when your watching t.v. at night, you see something funny but are too sleepy to laugh, well with Conan I would laugh out loud! Now Jimmy hosts Late Night and I was wondering what you guys though about it, is he funny? and the skits funny?

It looks like he’s having a hard time getting guests.

I mean initially he had names because he was guaranteed ratings week one.

But now he’s got Anna Kournikova (what is she doing… she’s over)
and Andy Dick… Andy F’n Dick… as guests. So it looks like he’s having a little trouble.

But in all fairness Conan had a similar start way back when… he was on a week to week contract… crazy.

So maybe Fallon will get better… who knows.

But I agree. Can’t wait for Conan to arrive on the West coast!!!
