Watching Jimmy Fallon strut his stuff onstage is two cans of Red Bull and a caffeine pill chaser for the psyche. He is a blur of boundless energy, elastic voiced, a troubadour satirist with a guitar.

Exhibit A: During one bit Saturday night at The Improv in Schaumburg, he did 16 spot-on celebrity impressions in 160 seconds.

Tina Fey's Sarah Palin impersonations are winning rave reviews from her former SNL Weekend Update co-host Jimmy Fallon.

"Tina Fey is hitting home runs left and right. She is phenomenal," Fallon told Usmagazine.com at a bash for celeb chef Mario Batali's new book, Spain...A Culinary Road Trip, at the Bon Appetit Supper Club in NYC on Wednesday. "Amy Poehler's pregnant and running around - she's great."

Rochester Institute of Technology kicks off its homecoming weekend tonight with The Capitol Steps, a comedy troupe made up of current and former Congressional staffers.

The group is known to take a humorous slant on the nation’s political scene, and it will be heading to RIT as the 2008 presidential race heats up. The Capitol Steps will perform two shows, one at 5 p.m. and one at 7 p.m. in the Student Alumni Union’s Ingle Auditorium.

Tickets for the big Florida State Homecoming PowWow show on Nov. 14 with "Saturday Night Live" veteran Jimmy Fallon go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at the Civic Center box office and all Ticketmaster outlets.

• It's Go Time for the former Saturday Night Live golden boy and future heir to Conan O'Brien's Late Night throne. It'll be important for him to actually be, you know, funny come 2009's NBC gig--and the odd MTV award-show hosting stint, film credits such as Taxi and Fever Pitch and 2002's abysmal The Bathroom Wall album aren't going to cut it in terms of prep work. To his credit, Fallon knows it.
